About the series
In the early 1980s, Spanish publisher Editorial Bruguera launched Super Lopez, a satirical superhero series that ran for nine issues. The strip skewered the conventions of American comic book heroes through the adventures of its bumbling protagonist, a parody of Superman. Created by the celebrated team of writer Efepé and artist Jan, the series became a cult favorite for its sharp, irreverent humor and distinctive cartooning. Super Lopez stands as a key work in the Spanish tradition of comedic genre deconstruction.
