About the series
In the late 1970s, the Italian publisher Edifumetto launched Sukia, a fantasy-horror series that ran for 153 issues through 1986. The strip followed its supernatural heroine through a dark, eroticized world of sorcery and peril, brought to life most memorably by the lush, atmospheric painted covers of artists Emanuele Taglietti and Alessandro Biffignandi. A key title in the Italian fumetti neri tradition, Sukia stands out for its blend of gothic fantasy and adult-themed adventure, showcasing the distinctive visual style that defined the era's pulp comics.
