Stretched Thin -- An Oubreak Story

In 2017, Seattle & King County’s Public Health department released Stretched Thin -- An Outbreak Story, a single-issue comic that uses the medium to explore the real-world pressures of a public health crisis. Created as an educational tool, it spotlights the work of disease investigators and the community impact of outbreak response. Though brief, this issue stands as a unique example of a government agency using sequential art to communicate the human stakes of epidemiology.
