About the series
From 1994 to 2007, Terry Moore wrote, drew, and self-published Strangers in Paradise through his own Abstract Studio, crafting a landmark independent series that defied easy genre labels. The story follows the intense, complicated bond between Katchoo and Francine, with the enigmatic David Qin adding layers of suspense and violence to their world of romance, friendship, and dark secrets. Moore's clean, expressive linework and deeply human character work made this a touchstone for mature, creator-owned storytelling in the 1990s.
