Strange Mysteries
I. W. Publishing / Super Comics · 1958–1964 · 8 issues
About the series
From 1958 to 1964, I. W. Publishing / Super Comics released eight issues of Strange Mysteries, a modest but intriguing entry in the pre-Code-holdover horror-and-suspense anthology scene. The series leaned on the steady scripting of Jay Disbrow and Sol Cohen, with art largely handled by the prolific Iger Shop, alongside Disbrow himself and a young Joe Kubert. Though short-lived, it captures a transitional moment in comics, where eerie, twist-ending tales still found a home on newsstands.
