Steaming Mad
Warner Books · 1975–1981 · 3 issues
About the series
From 1975 to 1981, Warner Books published just three oversized issues of Steaming Mad, a satirical comic series that brought together two of Mad magazine’s most celebrated talents: writer Al Jaffee and artist Mort Drucker. A short-lived but sharp-witted spin-off, it offered a familiar brand of pop-culture parody and political humor, distinct for its larger format and the chance to see these legendary creators stretch out beyond the magazine’s standard pages. It remains a curious, fondly remembered footnote in the history of American comic satire.
