Störtebeker

From 2010 onward, the German publisher Achterbahn has released Störtebeker, a comic series centered on the legendary pirate Klaus Störtebeker. Artist Harm Bengen is the most frequent visual contributor to this ongoing project, which blends historical adventure with the publisher's characteristic storytelling. The series matters as a modern German comic treatment of a classic folk hero, bringing a fresh, illustrated perspective to the Baltic Sea's most famous buccaneer.
