Stålpojken
Semic · 1983–1984 · 14 issues
About the series
In the early 1980s, Swedish publisher Semic presented a unique reimagining of Superman's youth in Stålpojken (1983–1984), a 14-issue series that translated and compiled American "Superboy" stories for a Scandinavian audience. Featuring the frequent writing of Frank Robbins, Leo Dorfman, and Robert Bernstein, with art by stalwarts like Bob Brown and Curt Swan, these tales followed the adventures of Clark Kent as the young hero Stålpojken. Though brief in its run, the series stands as a notable example of how American superhero comics were localized and distributed internationally during the era.
