In the mid-1990s, Brazilian publisher Editora Acme (and later Devir Livraria) brought Will Eisner’s classic newspaper strip to a new audience with this nine-issue comic series. Featuring the iconic masked detective the Spirit, the series reprinted Eisner’s influential, noir-tinged stories, celebrated for their groundbreaking visual storytelling and moody urban atmosphere. It stands as a key archival project for Portuguese-language readers, preserving the work of one of comics’ most revered creators.
