About the series
In 2005, Gotham Entertainment Group launched a four-issue miniseries that reimagined the Spider-Man mythos for a contemporary Indian setting. Written by Jeevan J. Kang and Suresh Seetharaman with art by Jeevan J. Kang, this bold cultural adaptation swapped New York for Mumbai and introduced Pavitr Prabhakar, a young man wrestling with the responsibilities of a spider-powered alter ego. The series stands as a pioneering experiment in localized superhero storytelling, blending familiar Spider-Man themes with Indian folklore and urban life.
