Spider

In the late 1980s, Norwegian publisher Hjemmet/Egmont launched a 14-issue series starring the masked vigilante known as the Spider, a gritty European crime-fighter. The series drew heavily on the talents of French-Belgian comics veterans, with prolific writer-artist Jean Graton (best known for Michel Vaillant) joined by scripter Greg and artists Christian Denayer and Hermann. This short-lived run stands as a distinctive, continental take on the superhero archetype, blending noir atmosphere with the clean ligne claire style of its creators.
