About the series
From 1987 onward, Sergio Bonelli Editore has published Speciale Dylan Dog, a series of 40 oversized annuals that deepen the mythos of the Nightmare Investigator. Most often written by Tiziano Sclavi, Alessandro Bilotta, or Pasquale Ruju, and illustrated by regulars like Giovanni Freghieri, Corrado Roi, and Luigi Piccatto, these self-contained stories explore Dylan Dog’s world alongside his faithful assistant Groucho, Inspector Bloch, the spectral figure La Morte, and even crossovers with fellow Bonelli hero Martin Mystère. This series matters as a showcase for longer, more experimental horror-noir tales that define the enduring appeal of Dylan Dog’s universe.
