About the series
In the mid-1970s, Danish publisher Carlsen launched Special-Comics, a ten-issue anthology series that introduced European readers to a mix of British adventure strips. The series is most notable for serializing the gritty, espionage thriller Modesty Blaise, with art by Jim Holdaway and scripts by Peter O'Donnell, alongside other serials like Jeff Hawke by Sydney Jordan and the work of Mogens Dalgård and Les Lilley. It stands as a key artifact of the era's cross-continental comics exchange, bringing sophisticated, mature storytelling to a Scandinavian audience.
