About the series
In the late 1960s and through the 1970s, Charlton Comics launched Space Adventures, a 12-issue series that blended cosmic heroics with the company's signature economical storytelling. Anchored by frequent writer Joe Gill and featuring the distinctive art of Steve Ditko, the series followed Captain Atom and his alter ego Allen Adam through a strange, often existential pocket of the superhero universe. Though brief, the series is a key artifact of Charlton's Silver Age ambition, showcasing Ditko's otherworldly designs and a moody, sci-fi-inflected take on the atomic-age hero.
