Space

From 1988 through its eight-issue run, Space was a Danish comic series published by Serieforlaget, Se-Bladene, and Stabenfeldt that brought a European sensibility to science-fiction adventure. The series is most closely associated with the lush, detailed artwork of Spanish artist José Ortiz, whose work anchored the stories written by a team including Olga May Bore, Alan Hemus, and Dave H. Taylor. Though brief, it stands as a distinctive snapshot of late-'80s European genre comics, blending cosmic spectacle with grounded human drama.
