Soul Eater

Yen Press’s Soul Eater (2009–2015) is a 25-issue manga series by Atsushi Ohkubo, who handled both writing and art, with additional scripting by Amy Forsyth. It follows the students of the Death Weapon Meister Academy, where young wielders partner with human-weapon hybrids to collect souls and transform their partners into ultimate weapons. Ohkubo’s energetic, gothic-infused art and fast-paced action made this a standout shonen series, blending dark fantasy with quirky humor and a distinctive visual style.
