Solruns Saga

In the late 1980s, Norwegian publisher Bladkompaniet launched Solruns Saga, a short-lived but visually striking fantasy comic that ran for just three issues between 1988 and 1993. Scripted primarily by Eirik Ildahl and illustrated by Bjørn Ousland, the series carved a small but memorable niche in Scandinavian comics with its atmospheric, mythic storytelling. Though brief, it stands as a notable example of the period’s European fantasy comics, showcasing the talents of two creators who would go on to shape Norwegian comics.
