Sokora Refugees

A short-lived Tokyopop manga-style series from 2006–2007, Sokora Refugees follows a group of fantasy creatures who flee their war-torn world and end up in a modern American high school. The two-issue story blends culture-clash comedy with action, as the refugees try to blend in while their pursuers close in. It's a niche but earnest example of Tokyopop's early push to create original English-language manga.
