Sokora Refugees

In this short-lived Tokyopop series from 2005–2006, a group of teenage refugees from the magical land of Sokora find themselves stranded in modern-day Tokyo, struggling to adapt to a world without magic. Blending fantasy and slice-of-life comedy, the story follows their efforts to fit in while hiding their true identities. Though only two issues were published, the series offers a quirky, fish-out-of-water premise from the manga-influenced publisher's early push into original English-language comics.
