Smile, a three-issue series from Kitchen Sink Press running from 1970 to 1972, was a collaborative showcase for the talents of Bill Lee, James Mitchell, and Jim Mitchell, who shared writing and art duties across the run. This short-lived underground comix title offered a raw, unpolished slice of the era's counterculture humor and visual experimentation. While its brief lifespan kept it a niche artifact, Smile stands as a representative example of the small-press, creator-driven energy that defined the early underground scene.
