In Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, the demon king's prized captive, Princess Syalis, has no interest in escaping—she just wants a good night's sleep. From the creator Kagiji Kumanomata, this long-running Viz Media series turns the classic fantasy kidnapping trope on its head, as the princess creatively repurposes demon castle resources (and monsters) into pillows, mattresses, and sleep aids. The humor comes from her relentless, deadpan pursuit of comfort, while the demon king and his minions grow increasingly exasperated by their uncooperative, nap-obsessed hostage.
