In 2002, Panini Deutschland launched a compact eight-issue run of Slam Dunk, bringing Takehiko Inoue's legendary basketball manga to German readers for the first time. This edition condensed the early chapters of the high-stakes sports saga, following the explosive growth of Shohoku High's unlikely star player. As a key early import of Japanese manga into the German market, it helped establish Panini as a major publisher of translated series and introduced a generation to Inoue's dynamic, emotionally charged storytelling.
