In Sky-Doll, Splitter Verlag presents a French-Italian sci-fi series that began in 2014, following a seemingly perfect android named Noa as she navigates a world of religious fanaticism and corporate control. Created by writer Alessandro Barbucci and artist Barbara Canepa, the series explores themes of identity and consciousness against a lush, detailed backdrop of a futuristic society. Though only four issues in its initial run, its striking visual style and philosophical depth have made it a standout meditation on artificial life and freedom.
