About the series
In the late 1980s, writer-artist Peter Milligan (credited as Pete Milligan) and artist Brett Ewins introduced a gritty, dystopian crime saga for DC Comics' mature-readers imprint, Helix. Set in a post-apocalyptic America ruled by gangsters who wield psychic powers, Skreemer follows the rise and fall of the titular mobster as he navigates a world of violence, betrayal, and shifting loyalties. This six-issue limited series is a landmark of British Invasion comics, blending noir storytelling with surreal, punk-infused visuals. Its unflinching exploration of power and corruption remains a cult classic, showcasing Milligan and Ewins' early, influential collaboration.
