In the late 1980s, Norwegian publisher Bladkompaniet (part of the Schibsted group) launched Skippern, a short-lived comic series that ran for just five issues from 1988 to 1989. The title, meaning "The Skipper," centered on a maritime theme, reflecting the seafaring culture of its home country.
