About the series
From 2005 to 2007, Norbert Hethke Verlag published the 70-issue fantasy series Sigurd, a German comic that chronicles the epic adventures of its titular hero in a mythic, sword-and-sorcery world. The series is most closely associated with its creator, writer and artist Hansrudi Wäscher, a legendary figure in German comics whose work on Sigurd revived the classic adventure style of his earlier Nick, der Weltraumfahrer and Tibor serials. A sprawling, self-contained saga, Sigurd matters as a late-career triumph from one of Germany's most prolific comic pioneers, offering a complete, old-fashioned heroic fantasy epic in the tradition of the classic European adventure comics.
