Shock Suspenstories

A short-lived but potent 1981 reprint series from Russ Cochran, Shock Suspenstories collected three issues of the classic EC Comics crime-and-horror title that originally terrified readers in the 1950s. Featuring the signature twist-ending tales of Al Feldstein, Bill Gaines, and Carl Wessler, the series showcased the lush, unsettling artwork of EC stalwarts Jack Kamen, Joe Orlando, and Wally Wood. Though brief, it served as an important early archival effort, bringing these influential, morally complex stories—where crime rarely paid and justice was often grim—back into print for a new generation.
