About the series
In the early 2010s, Image Comics published Shinku, a five-issue miniseries that blends horror, martial arts, and supernatural vengeance. The story follows a young woman transformed into a vampire as she hunts down the ancient evil that cursed her, set against a backdrop of neon-lit cities and shadowy underworlds. Written by Ron Marz and illustrated by Lee Moder, this compact series stands out for its moody, kinetic art and its fusion of Eastern mythos with Western comic sensibilities.
