About the series
In the early 2000s, Editora JBC brought Hiroyuki Takei's epic shonen saga Shaman King to Brazilian readers, running for 64 issues. The series follows the journey of shaman Yoh Asakura as he competes in the Shaman Fight, a tournament to determine the Shaman King who can reshape the world. Blending spirit battles with a deep exploration of friendship and destiny, this manga became a defining title for JBC during the rise of Brazilian manga publishing. Its cultural impact in Brazil helped cement the popularity of the shonen genre among a new generation of readers.
