About the series
A long-running Argentinian western series published by Italy’s Ivaldi Editore from 1967 to 1979, Sgt. Kirk follows the titular frontier soldier through 61 issues of rugged, morally complex adventures. The series is most closely associated with the legendary Hugo Pratt, who both wrote and drew many installments, alongside frequent collaborators Abel Santa Cruz, Dino Battaglia, Alberto Breccia, and Juan Arancio. A cornerstone of the European adventure comic, it stands out for its gritty realism and Pratt’s distinctive, atmospheric storytelling.
