Serie Pinocchio 1'
Nerbini · 1937–1938 · 12 issues
About the series
In the late 1930s, the Italian publisher Nerbini launched this 12-issue comic series featuring the beloved wooden puppet, with stories primarily penned by Paolo Lorenzini, a nephew of Pinocchio's original author, Carlo Collodi. The artwork, chiefly handled by Giorgio Scudellari and Mario Tempesti, brought a lively, period-specific visual charm to the character's misadventures. As one of the earliest Italian comic series dedicated to Pinocchio, it stands as a notable artifact of pre-war fumetti, blending classic literary roots with the emerging comic strip medium.
