Section 8

A gritty, darkly comedic series from Noir Press that launched in 1996, Section 8 follows a disgraced, washed-up superhero team scraping by in a corrupt city. Running for seven issues, the book is best known for its sharp, cynical take on the superhero genre, blending noir storytelling with absurdist humor. Its creator, writer/artist John Smith, defined the series' tone with his signature scratchy, expressive art and bleakly funny dialogue. Section 8 remains a cult favorite for its unflinching satire of heroism and the underbelly of caped crusading.
