About the series
From 1997 onward, the German publisher Kunst der Comics / Alpha released Schwulxx-Comix, a single-issue anthology that brought together two of the country's most celebrated cartoonists: Ralf König and Walter Moers. Known for their sharp, irreverent humor, König and Moers contributed to this slim volume a collection of gay-themed comic stories and gags, reflecting the frank, playful, and often politically charged underground-comix spirit of late-1990s Germany. Though brief in run, the issue stands as a notable intersection of two major talents, each a giant in his own right, collaborating on a niche but culturally resonant project.
