Schwermetall Spezial

A German anthology series launched in 1991 by Kunst der Comics (later Alpha), Schwermetall Spezial is a showcase for mature, visually ambitious European comics. The series is most closely associated with the work of Paolo Eleuteri Serpieri, whose detailed, sensual illustrations are a hallmark, alongside contributions from writer Gerd Benz. Over seven issues, it has offered a platform for boundary-pushing fantasy and science fiction, standing as a distinctive entry in the European heavy-metal tradition.
