Satanik

In the late 1960s, the Dutch publisher De Vrijbuiter (later De Schorpioen) brought the Italian horror icon Satanik to local readers, adapting the adventures of the disfigured scientist Marny Bannister in a 17-issue run. This series captured the macabre, morally complex tone of the original, blending gothic horror with a tragic, anti-heroic arc. Though brief, it remains a notable entry in European horror comics, showcasing the publisher's willingness to import dark, adult-oriented material to the Dutch market.
