Sarasvatin hiekkaa

In 2008, Tammi published the single-issue Finnish graphic novel Sarasvatin hiekkaa, adapting Petri Tolppanen and Risto Isomäki's environmental thriller into comics form with art by Jussi Kaakinen. The story merges climate science with a speculative thriller, following a scientist’s race to prevent a catastrophic methane release from the ocean floor. This standalone work stands out as a Finnish collaboration that brings a locally authored, ecologically urgent narrative to the graphic novel medium.
