About the series
A short-lived but striking two-issue revival from DC, Sandman Mystery Theatre (2016–2017) reunited writer Matt Wagner and artist Guy Davis for a coda to their acclaimed 1990s series. This reimagining of the Golden Age Sandman, Wesley Dodds, leans into the noir-tinged, character-driven mystery that defined the original run, with a story co-plotted by Steven T. Seagle. Though brief, it's a welcome return to the thoughtful, atmospheric corner of the DC Universe that Wagner and Davis made their own.
