About the series
In 1994, Italian publisher Comic Art released Sandman: Le origini, a five-issue series collecting the earliest chapters of Neil Gaiman's landmark DC Vertigo series. This edition translated the foundational "Preludes and Nocturnes" storyline for Italian readers, preserving the haunting art of Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, and Malcolm Jones III. As a key early foreign-language presentation of the work, it helped cement The Sandman's international reputation as a literate, mythic fantasy.
