Sandman

The Sandman (1994–1995) was a 12-issue series from Comic Art, a French publisher, that adapted the first two story arcs of Neil Gaiman's landmark Vertigo series into a European-style comic album format. Translated and re-presented for a Francophone audience, this edition is notable for the lush, painterly artwork of Marcello Mascaro, whose distinctive style gave Dream and his siblings a lush, almost classical feel. While not the original English-language run, this series represents an important early international translation of Gaiman's mythos, helping to cement the global reach of its dark fantasy.
