About the series
In early-2000s Brazil, Editora JBC brought Rurouni Kenshin to Portuguese-speaking readers as Samurai X, a 56-issue monthly series that faithfully translated the beloved manga. The series follows a wandering swordsman in Meiji-era Japan, balancing his vow never to kill with the violent past that haunts him. Best known for the work of creator Nobuhiro Watsuki, this edition became a defining manga release for a generation of Brazilian fans, introducing them to the epic blend of historical drama and samurai action.
