About the series
From 1987 onward, Carlsen published this single-issue comic by Danish writer Niels Søndergaard and Italian artist Vittorio Giardino. A stylish, European crime thriller, Sam Pezzo follows its hard-boiled private eye through a moody, meticulously drawn noir world. Though brief in its original run, the collaboration between Søndergaard and Giardino—the latter best known for his elegant ligne claire work—makes this a distinctive, cult-classic entry in continental adventure comics.
