Sally Forth

Wally Wood’s Sally Forth is a raucous, satirical military comic that originally ran from 1993 to 1994 under Fantagraphics, collecting and expanding on his earlier work from the 1960s. Written and drawn entirely by Wood, the series follows the irreverent, buxom titular soldier through a series of bawdy, anti-authoritarian gags and adventures that skewer military life and censorship. Though only eight issues long, it stands as a definitive showcase of Wood’s signature blend of meticulous, expressive art and darkly humorous, adult-oriented storytelling.
