Sad Sack with Sarge and Sadie

A short-lived Harvey Comics series from the early 1970s, Sad Sack with Sarge and Sadie expanded George Baker’s long-running military misfit comedy by giving Sad Sack a regular supporting cast—including the perpetually exasperated Sarge and his sweetheart Sadie Sack. With art primarily by Fred Rhoads alongside Baker, the book also featured the bizarre antics of side characters like Hi-Fi Tweeter, Lieutenant Packrat, and Muttsy. It stands as a late-era, lighthearted extension of the classic Sad Sack formula, now centered on the trio’s domestic and barracks humor.
