About the series
From 1975 to 1997, Semic Press published twenty-three annual Åsa-Nisse Christmas albums, a long-running Swedish comic series centered on the rustic misadventures of the titular farmer and his cronies in the village of Knohult. Anchored by the creative duo of writer Leif Bergendorff and artist Gösta Gummesson, these albums brought the beloved characters—including the sly Fjärsman, the bumbling Klabbarparn, and the long-suffering Eulalia and Kristin—to life in gentle, seasonal humor. A staple of Swedish pop culture, the series extended the Åsa-Nisse film and radio legacy into comics, offering readers a cozy, annual dose of rural comedy spanning over two decades.
