In the late-80s and early-90s, Mexican publisher Zinco launched Ruta 69, a 98-issue series that blended horror, science fiction, and dark fantasy into a uniquely unsettling anthology. Named for a supernatural highway, the title became a showcase for the publisher's most twisted and experimental stories, often featuring characters trapped in grim, inescapable fates. Though its creators remained largely uncredited in the original issues, the series earned a cult following for its unflinching tone and willingness to push boundaries within the Mexican comic landscape.
