In the early 1970s, Dutch publisher Amsterdam Boek brought Jean-Michel Charlier and Victor Hubinon's classic pirate saga Roodbaard to readers in the Netherlands. Running for eight issues from 1973 to 1975, this series follows the brutal adventures of the legendary red-bearded corsair across the high seas. Charlier's swashbuckling scripts and Hubinon's vivid, detailed artwork made this a standout European adventure comic, cementing its place as a beloved translation of a Franco-Belgian classic.
