Rocco Vargas

Daniel Torres’s long-running, self-contained series Rocco Vargas (1997–present, Edition 52) is a singular vision of retro-futuristic adventure, written and drawn entirely by Torres himself. Set in a stylized, art-deco-infused 1950s, it follows the exploits of a suave, rocket-faring protagonist through a world of sleek flying cars and noir-tinged intrigue. Though the series has only one issue to date, its creator’s meticulous world-building and distinctive linework have made it a celebrated cult artifact in European comics.
