About the series
A short-lived but visually rich Harvey Comics title from the mid-1950s, Ripley's Believe It Or Not Magazine (1953–1954) adapted the famous newspaper panel into a four-issue comic series. Primarily written and drawn by Howard Nostrand, with additional art by Al Avison, the series brought Ripley's trademark mix of bizarre facts, oddities, and human-interest oddballs to the comic-book page. It stands as a curious and entertaining artifact of the era's fascination with the strange and unusual, preserving the spirit of the original feature in a compact, illustrated format.
