Rick and Morty vs. Dungeons & Dragons, Chapter II: Painscape

In this 2019–2020 Oni Press sequel miniseries, writer Jim Zub and artist Troy Little trap Rick, Morty, and their D&D party inside a nightmarish realm of pain and puzzles. Expanding on the cross-dimensional crossover between the cartoon’s chaotic sci-fi and tabletop fantasy, the four-issue arc tests the characters’ survival skills against a dungeon master with a grudge. It matters as a clever, self-aware fusion that honors both franchises’ rules while exploiting their comedic tensions.
