About the series
In the tumultuous mid-1960s, Italian publisher Edi-Europ launched Rhapsodie, a thirteen-issue anthology series that blended science fiction, fantasy, and psychological thrillers with a distinctly European sensibility. Best remembered for the haunting, expressionist work of artist Dino Battaglia, the series offered a sophisticated, adult-oriented alternative to the superhero fare dominating American newsstands. Its brief but influential run showcased a generation of Italian and French creators experimenting with mood, abstraction, and narrative structure, making it a touchstone for connoisseurs of European comic art.
